It is great looking back at the photos of Fresher’s Fair (where student societies show case their activities to recruit new first year students). Nearly 300 societies offer sport, dance, music, politics, religion, and charity work. This was the view from our stall in Beit Quad, a constant stream of people passing by all day.
It is a day of almost unlimited possibility inviting the thought ‘What would l like to do?’ Looking at the faces of students going by this level of choice is both dazzling and yet daunting. There is another question lurking in the university experience, ‘Who might I become if I take up sky diving or ball room dancing, learn a martial art or work for a children’s charity in the developing world?’
